The grade threes have been learning about different types or genres of literature. Most recently, we had an opportunity to explore the non-fiction side of the world. This includes informational, biography, autobiography and memoir. The focus last week was on an informational book entitled, "A Day at the Pumpkin Patch". Students used the information they had read to create a Diagram of a Pumpkin.

We concluded the month of September and the theme of sunflowers with works of art inspired by Vincent van Gogh's piece entitled, "Fourteen Sunflowers in a Vase". Students observed a display of sunflowers in a vase and then proceeded to create a still-life of their own.
